When Lightning Strikes! Take an iPhone Photo.

But, Fix the Color Before You Send It.
Dave B., a friend of mine, was in Washington DC this summer and took a stunning photo of lightning striking a building near the US Capital with his iPhone camera. It is a great photo and an example of being at the right place at the right time. And, it is a picture worth sharing with friends. When it appeared in my email inbox I couldn’t resist seeing what OneClick Color technology would do to improve it. Here is the before and after comparison using OneClick to remove the magenta color cast increasing the brightness in the shadows.
Fix the color of iPhone photos before sending with iCorrect OneClick iPhone App
If Dave had iCorrect OneClick iPhone App on his iPhone he could have fixed the color before he sent the picture to his friends. And, it would have only taken a few extra seconds.
Freshair Software developed iCorrect OneClick iPhone App using PictoColor’s OneClick Color Technology. For more information go to http://www.freshairsoftware.com/iPhoneApplications/iCorrect/index.html
Creating a Sepia tone photo with OneClick
iCorrect OneClick technology is also available in iCorrect OneClick Plug-in for Photoshop and Elements and in CorrectPhoto Editor. One of the features of OneClick is the ability to create stunning Black and White and Sepia tone photos with one click of the mouse. Here is a sepia rendition of the lightning photo. The first thought that popped into my mind when I saw the photo was that maybe God was sending a message to Washington. But, what was he saying? I added the title using ImageTitler.
Most Photos can be improved with OneClick.
The point of this post is to reiterate the fact that most photos can and should be improved before sending them to your friends or uploading to Facebook. And, it is easy to do if you have an iPhone with iCorrect OneClick App or Photoshop Elements with iCorrect OneClick plug-in or CorrectPhoto with OneClick technology. I often go one step further and add a title or caption to the photo.

Creative Snow Photos. Make a Sepia Tone Image.
by admin on Feb.14, 2010, under photo color, Photo Techniques
Did you get snowed in recently? There certainly were a lot of people around the USA that were treated to record snow falls these past couple of weeks. In the Twin Cities area we were blessed with another 10-12 inches over the last week and the piles are getting pretty high with no melting in site. If you are like me you can’t resist taking “snow photos”. And, you will probably want to send a few shots to your friends in the warmer parts of the country to show them what they are missing.
Yesterday morning we were treated to one of those beautiful winter spectacles called Hoar Frost. (Frozen dew that forms a white coating on a surface. It is also called white frost.). I took the above shot out of my car window (I did stop the car) on my way to the store. After cropping (16×9 TV format) and color correcting the photo I clicked on the sepia tone button in CorrectPhoto to create the above image.
Here is the color version for comparison. You can decide which version you prefer.
For the most part, snow photos are pretty dull color wise. So, turning a few of your favorite shots into a sepia tone images might just make them a bit more interesting. And, it is easy to do.
It seems that much of the US has been blessed with snow and bad weather over the past few weeks. Maybe taking a few photos and applying some creative touches to them will ease the problems the weather has created.
Sepia Tone Photos-Dakota Valley Symphony Concert
by admin on Apr.27, 2009, under Photo Applications, Photo Editing
Using Sepia Tone and Color Photos Creates a Dramatic Affect
Yesterday it was a rainy day in Minnesota and I decided to spend the afternoon at a concert given by the Dakota Valley Symphony a the new Burnsville (MN) Peforming Arts Center. The final selection was Dakotah, a sympony created by a local composer, Randall Stokes, a number of years ago commemorating the history of Burnsville. The symphony was accompanied by a video slide presentaion with photos of the Burnsville area from the 1800′s through today. Many of the early photos were sepia tone so, for continuity, many of the current color photos were converted to sepia tone.

As I listened to the music and watch the slide show I couldn’t help wonder how long it took the person who created the slide show to convert the color photos to sepia tone. I, of course, new the easy way with iCorrect OneClick, but decided to see if I could figure out how to do it in Photoshop Elements. After several minutes I gave up and used iCorrect OneClick Plug-in which accomplished the task of converting a color photo to sepia tone with one click. If anyone knows an easy way to create sepia tone photos in Photoshop Elements let me know and I will post the instructions.
This was the first time I saw sepia tone images used in a slide presentation and I was impressed with the way the photographer used this effect.
