You’ve Got Pictures!-Now What? The “Digicam Syndrome”.

Pat and Wayne

My wife, Pat, and I have been married for 45 years; have two married children and two granddaughters. We have always taken photos of family events, vacations and those memorable moments-like when Lynn was little and put on my big snow boots that came up to her “youknowwhat” or when Craig is sitting on the bathroom floor full of toilet paper with that grin “I really didn’t mean to..” I started with an inexpensive Kodak camera and bought my first Canon FTB SLR on a business trip to Japan in 1975 (that is when you could still buy things cheap in Japan). When the roll of film was finished or we returned from a trip I took the exposed film to a camera store for 3×5 prints (even when 4×6 became popular we still got 3×5 because that fit in the album). Pat put the pictures into photo albums and we have the story of our life together in pictures. That is until I bought a digital camera. Yes, Pat and I are still together, but the photo album record of our family ended abruptly in 2003 when I purchased my first Canon digital camera. Oh, I still have the thousands of photos I’ve taken on a hard drive and many have been edited and some prints were made, but for the most part they sit in folders gathering pixel dust. (Ok, bad joke.)

I know I am not the only guy on the planet suffering from the “digicam syndrome”. In fact, many of my friends suffer from the same disease and our spouses are convinced it is terminal and that they will never see a photo again.  Is there a cure? Well, that is what we are going to explore in the coming weeks as we search for an answer to-“You’ve got Pictures. Now What?”

So, visit CorrectMyPhotos Blog regularly and join our journey in the coming weeks as we search for a cure. Your comments, suggestions, and questions are welcome.  Just register and post a comment or question. And, don’t hesitate to tell others about CorrectMyPhotos.com.

Todd and Cathy McMillan were active members of Digital Image Cafe when they had the opportunity to purchase it when the original owner had to sell or close it for health reasons.  And, they have done a marvelous job in growing this site.  Here is their summary of Digital Image Cafe.
