Digital Camera Basics-Part 1
by admin on Oct.13, 2008, under Digital Camera Basics
Recently, I gave a presentation to my Rotary Club entitled Digital Cameras and Computers-Part 1 (how is that for a catchy title). Another member had suggested the topic because he had just purchased a digital camera and asked the proverbial question, “Now that I have a digital camera what do I do with it?” The attendance that day was high, not because I am a great speaker, but because so many people find themselves in the same boat.
Since I only had 20 minutes I decided to just cover some of the topics about “point-and-shoot” digital cameras and how they differ from film cameras and a simple overview of some of the basic information. CorrectMyPhotos Blog’s purpose is to help amateur photographers who have a digital camera but don’t have a clue what to do with it. It is for my friends who call and ask, “How do I …….?–well, you can fill in the blanks. Young folks are certainly welcome, but this blog is really for the baby boomers and us older guys and gals who didn’t grow up with computers and cameras that make you look at a little screen to take a picture. We will cover all kinds of topics related to digital photography ranging from how to take better pictures, getting them into and out of your computer, to photo editing and ordering prints online, and using your iPhone or iTouch to show off your photos.
This is my first attempt at blogging so this will be an evolutionary journey. I welcome your comments and suggestions and, hopefully, readers will contribute some of their ideas that make the world of digital photography more enjoyable and less frustrating.
This is the first post. I will tell you a little more about me and my involvement with digital photography in future posts. I invite you to visit my blog regularly.
